The Mölltal Glacier is the official training ground of the Austrian national ski team and the German national alpine skiing team. Ski teams from around the world use the optimal conditions on the Mölltal Glacier to prepare themselves in the summer months for the international competitions. It is not without reason that international championship teams opt to train in this region.
Top athletes as Marcel Hirscher (ÖSV, Austrian Ski Federation), Felix Neureuther (DSV, German Ski Association), Anja Pärson (SWE) or Denise Karbon (IT). Even Tina Mazé (SLO) has trained here regularly.
On a clear day, the panoramic views from Schareck, the highest point of the glacier, include
30 three-thousand metre high peaks in the Hohe Tauern, a view unlike any other in Austria.
The Mölltal Glacier is snow-covered year-round, guaranteeing 100% snow certainty throughout the year. See for yourself on the webcams installed on the Mölltal Glacier.
The Mölltal Glacier ski area has slopes for all ability levels. Whether you opt for the blue family route, the black free-ride slopes, or the deep-snow variants, you will find the perfectly groomed ski run to meet all your demands.
The Chalet village is located as close as possible to the station for the Glacier cable car (just 2.1 km away, with regular bus service right outside the door). In just 4 minutes from your doorstep, you can easily reach the valley station and just 8 minutes later, you’ll be between 2,230 m and 3,120 m above sea level in Austria’s most reliably snow-covered glacial ski area.
